OpenAI's proposed government stake reportedly valued at $42.6B

OpenAI has reportedly proposed a structure giving the US government a 5% equity stake in the company, valued at roughly $42.6 billion at its current private valuation.

The proposal reportedly extends to similar stakes from other leading AI labs, with OpenAI said to be in active discussions with the White House on the structure.
