AI unicorn Mercor acquires a16z-backed startup Deeptune

Mercor, a $10 billion AI startup, has acquired Deeptune, a startup previously backed by Andreessen Horowitz, according to Fortune.

Founder Brendan Foody had personally backed Deeptune as an investor before the acquisition, adding an unusual wrinkle to a deal already notable for folding an a16z-backed company into a rival-adjacent unicorn.
